Tree City of the World Celebrates Día del Arbol
In case you missed it, San Antonio was recently recognized as a Tree City of the World by the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization and the Arbor Day Foundation. San Antonio is the first city in Texas to earn this recognition.

ADU Design Competition Awards Ceremony
Date and Time: Saturday, November 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Location: Prospera Housing Community Services, 3419 Nacogdoches Rd.
The Accessory Dwelling Unit Design Competition submissions have been received, and it is now time to celebrate! The competition is a partnership between the City of San Antonio, Able City, AARP, City Makery and disABILITYsa that asked people to imagine and design an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU).

South Leon Creek Greenway Extension Meeting
Date and Time: Tuesday, November 14 at 6 p.m.

Diabetes Health Fair

November 15 is America Recycles Day
Celebrate America Recycles Day with some fun facts about our local Solid Waste Management Department (SWMD)!
- Last year, the SWMD recycled over 61,000 tons of plastic, paper, cardboard and glass.
- Did you know the Solid Waste Department does not accept plastic shipping envelopes or styrofoam of any kind? Cardboard shipping boxes are accepted as long as you break them down first.
- Did you know the smaller garbage trucks that service downtown are hybrid diesel-electric vehicles?

Assessment on Barriers to Health Care Services
Through an assessment, Metro Health identified obstacles that residents experienced when looking for health care services during the pandemic. Some challenges included costs of prescription medicines, fear of catching COVID-19 while visiting a doctor and difficulty getting an appointment.
