Join the Menlo Park City Council meeting Sept. 9

Attend Menlo Park's upcoming City Council meeting Tuesday, Sept. 9. The public meeting will begin at 6 p.m. 

See the meeting's agenda item highlights below: 

  • J1. Provide direction on conceptual possibilities for sustaining and potentially restoring operating hours at City-owned swim centers. 

  • J2. Review and provide feedback on the draft Anti-displacement Plan strategies.

This is a hybrid meeting and members of the public can listen to the meeting and participate in person at City Council Chambers (751 Laurel St.), by telephone at 669-900-6833, via Zoom or stream live.

Belle Haven Pool and Burgess Pool will be the topic of the City Council study session scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 9. The City Council will receive end-of-summer attendance, financial reports and related background information about the aquatics program. The City Council will also review possibilities for sustaining and potentially expanding open hours at the City's swim centers. Read more...

Attend the Menlo Park Downtown Parking Management Study Open House on Thursday, Sept. 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Sequoia Room at the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center to share feedback on parking in downtown Menlo Park. The City, with our consultants, is working on a parking management strategy based on data and community input to evaluate potential tools to improve access and the overall parking experience in downtown Menlo Park. Read more...

Ride Bay Area transit to recognize Transit Month this September

Transit Month events

September is Transit Month! Transit connects people, places and communities, while also increasing mobility, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and reducing congestion. San Francisco Transit Riders and Seamless Bay Area encourage the community to track their rides this September to earn badges, win prizes, compete against friends and show their love for transit! Every ride taken on public transit run by a Bay Area transit agency is another entry into the Transit Month raffle. Riders may also participate in over 60 transit-focused events. Read more...

September is Pedestrian Safety Month in California. The Menlo Park Police Department would like to remind drivers to slow down and be alert for people walking on our roads. By always taking extra precautions, you can help protect pedestrians and reduce the risk of crashes and injuries. Menlo Park Police Department offers safe driving and walking tips, including staying off the phone when behind the wheel or walking. Read more...

Apply for the Community Emergency Response Team Academy starting Sept. 11

The Menlo Park Fire District has opened registrations for its September 2025 Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Academy. This free program provides community members hands-on training in basic disaster preparedness, fire extinguisher usage, disaster medical care, first aid training, search and rescue techniques as well as neighborhood team building. The next Academy will take place over six sessions from Sept. 11 through Oct. 11. Participants must be 18 years of age or older. Child Safety Seat Installation Event Sept. 14

On Sunday, Sept. 14, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., the Menlo Park Police Department will have certified child passenger safety technicians check car seat installations in the parking lot in front of the Arrillaga Family Recreation Center (700 Alma St.). The technicians will teach caregivers how to install the car seat correctly, as well as educate them on the appropriate seat based on the child’s age and size. Read more...

The California Department of Insurance is proud to partner with the California Earthquake Authority to raise awareness about the Earthquake Brace + Bolt (EBB) Program, which is once again offering grants to help Californians strengthen older homes against earthquake damage.
