Fitzwater Appoints Blake as Director of Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services
FREDERICK, Md. – Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater today announced the appointment of Jason Blake as Director of Frederick County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Services. The County Council confirmed the appointment today.
“Jason Blake’s extensive background in fire and rescue services demonstrates his expertise in the field and his commitment to serving others,” said County Executive Jessica Fitzwater. “He is an accomplished leader whose experience and vision will make a real difference for Frederick County’s Volunteer Fire and Rescue teams.”
Mr. Blake brings more than 25 years of progressive leadership experience in fire and rescue services. Most recently, he served as Battalion Chief – Field Operations for the 5th Battalion for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services. In this role, he supervised eight stations, eight Captains, nine Lieutenants, and 88 personnel.
Mr. Blake has served as a firefighter and paramedic responding to fire, medical, and other emergencies. He also has extensive experience in developing and conducting training, as well as overseeing recruitment and retention strategies.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mr. Blake is a graduate of Purdue Global University and the State University of New York Health Science Paramedic Program. He is a resident of Mount Airy, Maryland.
