Fireworks Frenzy
July 3rd | 5 pm – 10 pm | Hunter Street Park
Fireworks Frenzy is an annual event organized by the Town of Apex. This year's event features a DJ, food trucks, and activities for kids, ending the night with a spectacular fireworks display. For a full rundown of details, including any weather info, visit www.apexnc.org/fireworks.
Olde Fashioned Fourth of July
July 4th | 9 am – 1 pm | Hunter Street Park
Olde Fashioned Fourth of July is an annual event organized by the Town of Apex. This year's event features games, inflatables, vendors, the Parade of Wheels, and ends with a splash down from the Apex Fire Department. For the full schedule, including any weather info, visit www.apexnc.org/fourth.

Annual Operating Budget Adopted for Fiscal Year 2023-24
The annual operating budget gives Apex town officials the authority to collect revenue and make expenditures, depending on the priorities of the council, community, and staff.
In preparing the FY23-24 budget, town staff followed guidance from Town Council’s strategic goals to develop a proactive budget that will balance improving current town programs and services with development of new programs and projects.

Changes to Services During Week of July 4th
Due to the July 4th holiday, you’ll notice a change in service for the following:
- Town administrative offices and facilities will be closed on Tuesday, July 4th.
- Trash and recycling will run on normal schedule Monday. Collection will be delayed by one day, for Tuesday through Friday routes (Friday’s route will be collected Saturday).
- Yard Waste will not be collected on Tuesday, July 4th. All possible homes will be collected on the four remaining weekdays. We appreciate your patience as crews work on this condensed schedule.
- GoApex bus service does not operate on Tuesday, July 4th.
Remember! You can receive push notifications when collection schedules change due to holidays or inclement weather via the 'Apex Collects' mobile or web app!

Party in the Peak – Call for Photos and Historic Items
Save the Date for the Apex 150th signature event – Party in the Peak! We’ll see you at the Party on Saturday, September 23rd on Apex Town Campus from 10 am to 5 pm.
Party in the Peak features live music, storytelling, local performances, and a kid's area, along with some of your favorite local food trucks offering specialty Party in the Peak celebration items to enjoy. Help us celebrate this once-in-a-lifetime event, while learning more about Apex’s past, present, and potential through interactive exhibits.
Historians - We need your help!
Do you have photos or other items that show Apex’s history? We’d love to display your items in the 'Past' exhibit during the Party, to help other attendees learn about the history of our town. Complete this online form or call the Halle Cultural Arts Center at (919) 249-1120.

Celebrate Park & Recreation Month in July
Every July we celebrate National Park and Recreation month here in Apex! For 2023, the theme is "Where Community Grows", which celebrates the vital role park and recreation professionals play in bringing people together, providing essential services, and fostering the growth of our community.
Join us for special programming during July, including:
- July 12th: Summer Slam! – Larger-than-life games like Knockerball, giveaways, and Kona Ice onsite with refreshments for purchase.
- July 13th: Chalk the Walk – Embrace your inner chalk artist! Design and draw your own work of art in the park. A "People's Choice Award" will be up for grabs!
- July 14th: Nature Scavenger Hunt – Get out and explore one of the many parks or trails Apex has to offer!
- July 14th: Puzzlepalooza – Teams of two to four will compete to finish a 500-piece puzzle in the shortest amount of time. The number of teams will be limited, so register early!

LaunchAPEX Application Period Open Through July 14th
Now in its 6th year, LaunchAPEX is a ten-week program that provides comprehensive business training, connection to financial resources, carefully paired mentoring, and opportunities for networking with other entrepreneurs.
Graduates of the program have gone on to launch successful businesses in retail, design, health care, food service, educational services, branding and marketing, photography, entertainment, and more!

Major Project Highlights for Capital Improvement Plan
The town’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) is a multi-year plan for major expenses like acquisition of land, construction or renovation of public buildings and parks, construction of new roads and sidewalks, expansion or renovation of water, wastewater, electric, or stormwater infrastructure, and capital equipment to support operations.
The plan is reviewed and updated each year as funding, needs, and community priorities change. Projects eligible for inclusion in the CIP are those with an asset value of greater than $100,000 and a useful life of greater than three years.
