The initial, high-level design concept is available for a public plaza in the closed portion of Santa Cruz Avenue between Curtis Street and Doyle Street in the eastbound direction (“the 600 block”). The design allows multiple uses, enhances safety, creates a welcoming environment with aesthetic appeal and activates the space. The Statewide Special Election will take place Nov. 4. Locations for ballot drop-off in the City of Menlo Park are at the Belle Haven Child Development Center (410 Ivy Drive, outside, walk-up), the Boys & Girls Club (401 Pierce Road, outside, walk-up) and City Hall (701 Laurel St., outside, walk-up). During October, Menlo Park will increase street sweeping frequency to reduce debris, protect water quality and prevent flooding during the wet season. | Earthquake Brace + Bolt Program application period extended through Oct. 17

The California Department of Insurance is proud to partner with the California Earthquake Authority to raise awareness about the Earthquake Brace + Bolt (EBB) Program, which is once again offering grants to help Californians strengthen older homes against earthquake damage. Bring us along on your library adventure! The City of Menlo Park is refreshing our library cards and inviting community members of all ages to submit original artwork inspired by the theme “My Library Adventure in Menlo Park.” Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of staff and stakeholders, and select designs will be printed on new library cards and made available to the public. Any artist whose work is selected for printing will be notified prior to printing. Submit your design by Oct. 31 for the opportunity to be displayed in the gallery Nov. 18, 2025–Jan. 15, 2026. | San Mateo County Community Survey seeks your feedback through end of November

Help identify vulnerabilities, evaluate preparedness levels and develop targeted strategies for improving emergency response in San Mateo County. The Department of Emergency Management is conducting a critical community assessment to better understand residents' emergency preparedness needs, barriers they face and how we can enhance support before, during and after disasters. The data collected will directly inform resource allocation, policy updates and emergency planning decisions.
