Join the City for a free community Block Party to kick off Downtown Thursday, featuring music, activities, giveaways, and a fun, family‑friendly atmosphere with complimentary light bites and beverages. Free parking will be available in the City Tower Garage after 5 p.m. (60 North Flores St.). The Local SATX micro‑transit will be available to transport the public from other downtown locations to the Block Party (more information). See parking map for City-owned parking options.
This Block Party launches Downtown Thursday, the City’s new weekly summer series offering family‑friendly activities, arts and culture, food and drink specials, community events, and free parking after 5 p.m. every Thursday from June through the end of August. Leave Early and Plan Ahead – Expect heavy traffic on busy event weekends. Plan to leave early and be sure to consult a navigation app, such as Google Maps or Waze, to find the best route to your destination.

Take Public Transportation – Find nearby VIA Metropolitan Transit routes by visiting Google Maps and selecting the public transport option. VIA also offers its Link ride-sharing service for $1.30 a ride within its downtown service area zone and Park & Ride for certain large events. For more details, visit VIA’s website.

The St. Mary’s Garage (205 E. Travis St.) and City Tower Garage (60 N. Flores St.) are located near the River Walk, Houston Street, and Travis Park and typically have available spaces. Event parking rates (up to $15 at City facilities) may be in effect on busy event days.

Downtown Thursday offers free parking at city-operated parking garages, parking lots and parking meters every Tuesday evening from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
