Caltrain to test electric trains, potential late-night noise

Caltrain's new electric trains are set to replace aging diesel sets along the San Francisco to San Jose route by September 2024. Testing for the new trains will begin this month, with potential noise impacts at night in Menlo Park. Upcoming Citywide Slurry Seal Project

As part of Menlo Park's five-year street maintenance program, the City's Public Works department is currently developing construction drawings for a Citywide Slurry Seal Project. Slurry seals are a surface treatment that prolongs the life of qualifying asphalt roadways. Project design will be completed in May with construction tentatively scheduled from July to September... Menlo Park Public Works grows the community’s urban forest canopy

The Menlo Park Public Works team recently planted 18 African fern pines on Pierce Road near the US 101 and Willow Road interchange. The trees will improve air quality and form a sound and visual buffer from the highway. City crews prepared the soil for planting, installed the trees, and will water them regularly through the summers... Click to continue

Pile burning at Stanford's Jasper Ridge March 4-8

From March 4-8, a pile burning event will take place at Stanford's Jasper Ridge. Pile burning is a safe, methodical practice to reduce vegetation, also considered a "fuel load," or the amount of combustible material in a particular space. The City of Menlo Park hosts a wide range of high-quality classes for all ages and interests including fitness, dance, sports, youth gymnastics, music, drama, arts and crafts, youth camps, lifelong learning and more. The spring/summer 2024 catalog will open for enrollment for Menlo Park residents Saturday, March 9 and for non-residents Wednesday, March 13. Learn more.
