Join us June 19 from 5–8 p.m. at Belle Haven Community Campus (100 Terminal Ave.) as we kick off Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. | City Council to consider Specific Plan amendments June 23

Tuesday, June 23, beginning at 6 p.m., the City Council is scheduled to consider adoption of amendments to the El Camino Real/Downtown Specific Plan. The proposed amendments would modify land uses allowed along Santa Cruz Avenue within the Downtown/Station Area “Main Street” Overlay land use designation. Menlo Park Library is presenting its 9th Annual Summer Puppetry Festival this summer! | Affordable housing - waitlist applications open through July 10

Applications are now open for affordable rental units at Willow Terrace (1121 Willow Road, Menlo Park). Applications are due July 10 at 5 p.m. Applications are open for one-bedroom units at the 80% Area Median Income Level. Applicants will be placed on a waitlist to fill future vacancies. Applications can be submitted electronically (preferred) and by mail or in person at the property management office located at 2358 University Ave., East Palo Alto, CA 94303. | Register your block party for National Night Out 2026!

National Night Out is coming up Tuesday, Aug. 4, and we want you to participate. Celebrations generally happen anywhere from 5–10 p.m. National Night Out is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and crime prevention. | Cal Water begins two projects to strengthen Menlo Park's water system

Cal Water is upgrading the local water system in Menlo Park — installing 9,300 feet of new water pipe across two projects to improve water flow, supply reliability and fire protection for the community. Work is underway in both northern and central Menlo Park, Monday through Friday. | City Hall solar project now generating clean energy

The City of Menlo Park's City Hall solar energy system is now fully operational and generating renewable electricity. The system is expected to produce approximately 413,000 kWh of clean electricity annually while helping reduce the City's energy costs over the next 20 years. The City Hall installation is part of Menlo Park's broader solar partnership with Peninsula Clean Energy to expand renewable energy generation at City facilities. Read more...

| Police reinstate alarm response program July 1: register alarms

The Menlo Park Police Department (MPPD) is reinstating its Alarm Response Program, effective July 1, to improve emergency response efficiency, reduce false alarm calls, and ensure accurate contact information during real emergencies. As part of this reinstatement, all residential and commercial alarm systems must be registered annually, beginning July 1 and renewing each fiscal year. Read more...

| Electric vehicle charging fees increasing July 1

Beginning July 1, fees at City-owned electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will increase following City Council approval of the updated Master Fee Schedule April 28.
