Brassiewood Drive Phase 2

We're happy to let you know that the Austin City Council authorized the construction contract for the Brassiewood Drive Phase 2 project for approximately $3.3 million.

City staff is currently executing the contract, which involves a lot of paperwork behind the scenes. Construction typically begins eight to ten weeks after Council approves the contract. 

We also have a new project manager for this phase. His contact information is at the bottom of this email. We will be sending out more information about the project in the coming weeks. We will also be setting up a public meeting in late June for you to meet the contractor and answer your questions about construction.

What is this project all about?

Brassiewood Local Flooding is a multi-phase project to reduce the risk of flooding in the area. Phase Two includes: 

1.    Enlarging the outlet in the detention pond at Aviary Cove
2.    Constructing a new storm drain along South Pleasant Valley Road. 

The outlet and the new storm drain will be connected. Together, they will direct the stormwater from the pond into Williamson Creek near the South Pleasant Valley Bridge. They will help the pond drain and lower the risk of the pond overtopping.
