CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
June 6, 2025
We appreciate your patience as we kicked off the State Street paving project earlier this week. Over the next few weeks, crews will be upgrading pedestrian ramps to meet ADA compliance at intersections from North Temple to 400 S. There will also be various locations within the travel lanes where crews will be lowering utility covers in preparation for paving activity. Due to the nature of this work, residents may experience moderate noise as crews use demolition equipment to complete these tasks. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. We also want to remind motorists traveling through the area at night to stay clear of construction zones separated by barrels and cones. These traffic control devices are in place to safely guide drivers into open lanes. Please follow all posted traffic signage including detour routes. Thank you for your continued patience and for staying informed about this project.

SCHEDULE
Work Hours: Night Work (7pm - 6am)
Workdays: Sunday Night - Friday Morning
Project Total Duration: Approximately 75 days
Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and material availability.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITES & TRAFFIC IMPACTS
June 2 - 27: Pedestrian ramp upgrades at intersections. Lowering of several dozen utility covers.
Starting as early as the week of June 30th: Nighttime paving operations begin. Dates TBA as the work approaches.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will resurface State Street (SR-186) from North Temple to 400 S in Salt Lake County. The project objectives are aimed at preserving the life of the road. This paving process will help increase the longevity of the road surface, address road imperfections and enhance motorist safety by providing a smoother, more durable road. Additional work includes upgraded pedestrian ramps to meet ADA compliance, refreshed lane painting/striping. See our project website for more details.

For your safety and the safety of those working in the area, please use extra caution, reduce speeds, and follow all posted signs and signals when driving through construction zones. Barrels and other traffic control devices are placed to guide motorists safely through the work zone, and to protect the project team.
