|
|
The McCormick Field Centennial Restoration and Capital Improvements project is officially underway! A groundbreaking ceremony took place on August 28 and construction began after Labor Day in conjunction with the last home game of the year. The project is expected to be complete before Opening Day of the 2026 baseball season. During the 2025 season, McCormick Field will continue to host baseball games, but some areas will be closed due to ongoing construction.

Construction Impacts
-
Typical construction operating hours are 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. on weekdays and as needed on weekends during the same hours. Some minor work may occur outside of these hours.
-
Neighbors can expect to hear moderate construction noise during work hours that includes equipment back up bells, concrete saw cutting and possibly some concrete chipping. At this time, the project does not anticipate any pile driving, blasting, or any other considerably disruptive noise or activities.
-
Staging for construction-related vehicles and equipment will be located mainly in the parking lot on McCormick Place. Secondary staging will take place in the access lot off of Hunt Hill Place, where most recently construction staging has existed for the Memorial Stadium project.
-
Utility work related to the project will not impact surrounding properties at this time. Electrical and water connections that could pose an impact to the neighborhood will be communicated in advance.
