Seeking Your Feedback for the Housing Plan Update

Did you know? Many of our local workforce (like teachers, first responders, and healthcare workers) cannot afford to live in Apex. In fact, for some of those workers, the difference between their salary and the median cost of buying a home is over $300,000.

We're making a plan to help address these issues and we need your help! Join us for two opportunities where your voice can shape the future of housing in Apex:

April 9th - Resident Roundtables (registration required)
2:00 - 3:30 PM & 5:30 - 7:00 PM | Apex United Methodist Church (100 S. Hughes Street)

Engage in thoughtful discussions with your community and share your insights!

April 10th - Education & Aspirations Workshop (registration requested)
Drop in anytime between 5:00 - 7:00 PM | Apex Senior Center (63 Hunter Street)

Explore interactive stations and provide feedback on housing in Apex. Your ideas will help guide our next steps!

Volunteer Spots Remain for Think Apex Day

Think Apex Day, our annual day of community service, will be held on Saturday, April 26th. This year we’re hosting eight ways for you to give back:

  • Think Clean @ Pleasant Park: Plant shrubs and grass to enhance the natural beauty of the park.
  • Think Life @ Apex United Methodist Church: Donate blood to help save a life!
  • Think Refresh @ Apex Community Park: Make your mark by trailblazing (literally) or refreshing paint around the park.
  • Think Revitalize @ the Justice Heights neighborhood: Help your neighbor by completing yard work and assisting with essential home repairs and improvements.
  • Think Create @ John M. Brown Community Center: Decorate and fill canvas bags to help senior adults transition into life at an assisted living facility.
  • Think Golden Games @ Cambridge Village Senior Living or Spring Arbor of Apex: Play games with the residents and spend the morning making memories.
  • Think ReUse @ Apex ReStore: Assist staff by taking donations, working the sales floor, and completing projects throughout the day.
  • Think Unity @ Western Wake Crisis Ministry: Show your support for a local non-profit by sprucing up their space with a fresh coat of paint.

There’s something for everyone! Register now to secure your spot as we spend the day serving our community together.

Spring Road Maintenance Projects Begin Soon

Maintaining safe and reliable roadways is a top priority for the Town. With over 248 miles of town-owned streets in our transportation system, our team coordinates a Pavement Condition Survey every three years to help prioritize future resurfacing projects. Several street maintenance projects are planned for 2025, including asphalt rejuvenation, microsurfacing, and resurfacing work.

Is your neighborhood included in the maintenance schedule this year? Take a look at our Peak Pavement Management map, and learn more about each maintenance method at www.apexnc.org/resurfacing.

Pleasant Park Water Storage Tank Now Under Construction

The Town of Apex owns and maintains three elevated water storage tanks (also called water 'towers') designed to provide adequate water storage and water pressure. The town’s fourth tank is now under construction, located just inside the entrance to Pleasant Park. There are no anticipated impacts to park operations (events, athletics, etc.) during this project.

Pleasant Plains Road Stoplight Safety

Join Traffic Safety Officer Meyers as he explains the proper way to safely and legally move through the intersection of Pleasant Plains Road and Old US 1 (as you exit Pleasant Park).

More Parking on Moore

Having a hard time finding parking in downtown Apex? Try the Moore Street Lot, just a five-minute walk from the heart of downtown! The town expanded this parking area of about 10 spaces into a larger lot with 72 spaces last year, in preparation for the Saunders Lot reconstruction project.

You’ll find this public parking lot at the end of E. Moore St (near Holland’s Jewelers). It’s a great option for a longer stay, since the parking spaces have no time restrictions. Check it out the next time you visit downtown!
