Utility Billing Updates

Phase 1 of the Meter System Upgrade project is nearly complete, replacing water meters and meter endpoints for most Apex utility customers. Phase 2 is now underway, as the town's contractor begins to replace electric meters. Learn more about what to expect at www.apexnc.org/MSU

Cycle 2 customers may notice a misprint on your October bill. The date should be listed as 10/15/25 instead of 10/02/25. This misprint does not impact any other information on your bill (service period, number of days, usage, charges, due date, etc.).

Yard Waste Tips for Peak Leaf Season

Fall is a busy season for our vacuum trucks, as piles of leaves are raked to the curb. Apex yard waste collection crews work hard to balance the increased workload during peak leaf season. We do our best to stay on schedule, running as early and as late as safety allows. Here are a few ways you can help us collect quickly:

  • Do not place leaves in bags or your trash cart. Rake them to the curb, where our vacuum trucks will collect.
  • Separate your leaves from other yard waste - avoid mixing them into piles with sticks and branches.
  • Make sure that your yard waste is easy to access, and not blocked by vehicles or other items.
  • Keep yard waste out of our stormwater system by placing 10 feet or more away from storm drains.
  • Our trucks cannot collect dirt, mulch, or rocks. These items damage our trucks and can lead to β€œdusting” streets while collecting.
