Winter Weather Reminders

With colder weather upon us, it's important to be prepared and stay aware of closures and delays. Keep these tips in mind when temperatures hit below freezing or winter weather strikes:

  • Frozen water pipes can be costly and disruptive! Open your faucets to a small drip, disconnect outdoor hoses, keep cabinet doors open for warm air to circulate, and locate your main water shut-off valve in case of an emergency.
  • Facility and service closure updates will be at www.apexnc.org/weather
  • Report utility outages via the Apex Outage app and at www.apexnc.org/outage
  • Trash and recycling can be impacted by severe weather – download the Apex Collects app to receive updates to service interruptions
  • Have a Town of Apex athletics game and practice? Call the weather hotline at (919) 249-3348 for the latest information on scheduling.
  • School closures are managed by the Wake County Public School System. Learn more about closures and delays at www.wcpss.net
