Pond Rehabilitation Construction Update

The Dick Nichols and Beckett Meadows Pond Rehabilitation project will rehabilitate two existing water quality ponds, a retention pond at Dick Nichols District Park and a wet pond behind the Oak Hill Library/Beckett Meadows in the Williamson Creek Watershed. As construction activity on the Beckett Meadows site wraps up this month, work has begun on the Dick Nichols construction site. Substantial completion of the Dick Nichols and Beckett Meadows Pond Rehabilitation is anticipated for late summer 2025.
Recent Developments:
Beckett Meadows Pond:
- Geomembrane liner system has been installed
- Compacted fill and berm have been completed
- Headwalls have been poured
- Soil retention blankets and mulch socks have been installed
- Hydroseeding has been completed
Dick Nichols Pond:
- Erosion controls and tree protection have been installed
- Active construction on the Dick Nichols Pond has begun

- The construction site is for authorized personnel only. Full Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) must be worn by anyone in the construction area.
- City of Austin permitted construction hours are:
- Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Saturday, 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
