Frederick County Division of Parks and Recreation Announces the Grand Opening of Middletown’s First Skate Spot

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick County Division of Parks and Recreation is thrilled to announce the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the highly anticipated Middletown Park Skate Spot and Pump Track, a 13,538 square foot multi-use skate spot and pump track in Middletown, Maryland. The division will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, December 3 at 3:30 pm near the entrance of Middletown Park located at 7628 Coblentz Road, Middletown, Maryland. The community is welcomed to attend.

The new skate spot and pump track is an exciting addition to Middletown Park, providing a dynamic and engaging space for skaters and riders of all ages. It is designed to accommodate a variety of skill levels with features to challenge and inspire skateboarders, while the pump track offers a unique riding experience.

The idea of a multi-use skate park for this small town was a concept that began back in 2009 for Middletown when the Frederick County Commissioners agreed to change the Master Plan of Middletown Community Park. “The installation of these skate spot features continues our efforts to provide low-cost, accessible recreation opportunities for all ages in all parts of the County, especially for youth and teens,” said the Frederick County Division of Parks and Recreation Director, Jeremy Kortright. “The ability to bring this long-term dream to Middletown is a part of an ongoing effort to bring positive activity to Frederick County.”

“Growing up in Myersville, we dreamed of having a skatepark in Frederick County, it’s incredible to see that dream become a reality now in Middletown,” said David Dulberger, teacher at Middletown Middle School. “This skate spot gives today’s kids a safe, welcoming space to connect, grow, and challenge themselves.”
