Construction update: First phase complete, second phase begins this month

The first phase of the Burrell Drive project serving the Wooten neighborhood is now complete. The centerline has been reinstalled along Burrell Drive and nearby Dale Drive is now serving two directions of traffic. 

The second phase will begin in November with crews focusing on concrete and asphalt work as follows:  

• A new shared use pathway will be installed behind the south curb of Wooten Drive between Burrell Drive and Wooten Elementary School to support safer routes to school.
• Curb bulb outs will be constructed at the corners of Anderson Lane, Wooten Drive, and Ohlen Road for the in-street trail connection.
• Pavement markings (two white lines) will be placed between Anderson Lane and Wooten Drive to define the travel lane and to set up space for the new corner construction at Anderson Lane and Wooten Drive. On street parking will be permitted on the east curb during this phase of work. 
• A new concrete pedestrian island will be installed on Dale Drive between Burrell Drive and Lazy Lane.
• Asphalt speed cushions will be installed on Burrell Drive between Wooten Drive and Weyford Drive.
