A group of people riding bikes in the road

FREDERICK, Md. - Gear up, Frederick! It’s time to hop on two wheels and join the ride. Transit Services of Frederick County is thrilled to host Bike to Work Day 2025, a celebration of cycling, community, and sustainability, happening on Thursday, May 15, 2025. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or dusting off your bike for the first time, this event is for you! Cyclists of all ages and experience levels are invited to join this fun, community-focused event from 6:00 AM to 8:30 AM.

The morning kicks off with the Ceremonial Ride at 6:45 AM, starting from Hood College’s Alumnae Hall. This leisurely, family-friendly ride will weave through Frederick’s charming streets and scenic parks, culminating at City Hall before continuing to the Transit Center. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience Frederick from a whole new perspective—on two wheels!

The morning will wrap up with a Pit Stop Celebration at the Transit Center, featuring refreshments, local organizations and non-profits, City and County Divisions and Departments, giveaways, and a proclamation from the Mayor, County Executive, and other local leaders.

Can’t wait to snag your free commemorative t-shirt? We’ve got you covered! Head over to Gravel & Grind on Thursday, May 8, 2025, between 3:00 PM and 5:00 PM, for an early t-shirt pickup and a chance to enjoy a pre-event celebration.

Bike to Work Day is more than just a ride—it’s a movement. With its emphasis on health, sustainability, and community, this event is a wonderful way to reduce car dependency, connect with fellow residents, and enjoy the great outdoors.

So, dust off your helmet, pump up those tires, and get ready to join the ride!
