Join us to Shape the Future of the Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium Master Plan

The City of San Antonio launched a community-driven planning process in July to develop a master plan for the future redevelopment of the Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium site. Through the first public meetings our community has provided valuable insight. At the next public meeting, on Saturday, September 12, we will unveil the proposed design plan. At this meeting we invite all interested residents, business owners, and community members another opportunity to share your thoughts and help shape the final direction.

San Antonio Startup and Tech Week begins September 28

There is still time to register for San Antonio Startup + Tech Week (SASTW), the city’s premier entrepreneurship and innovation gathering, now in its 11th year. It brings together founders, builders, investors, and community leaders for five days of interconnected events across multiple venues, with each room hosting its own programming. The event is organized by Geekdom and Launch SA, a City of San Antonio sponsored resource, with anchor venues including The Rand, Central Library, Trinity University, Legacy Park, and more.

American Business Women’s Day

American Business Women’s Day on September 22 honors the leadership, innovation, and contributions of women who strengthen our nation’s business community. This annual observance recognizes the many ways businesswomen drive progress in workplaces across the country, including those whose dedication supports and advances our own local workforce. It also serves as a reminder of the valuable resources available in our area to support women in business, such as Women Unlimited San Antonio, which offers Networking Thursday events that help women grow, lead, and succeed by meeting with the Small Business Administration (SBA) and UTSA Small Business Development Center.

Buy Local Passes – Are You Ready to Be A Part of the Program?

Interested in attracting new customers? We’re exploring efforts designed to do one thing: get more shoppers through your doors. The idea is to launch new interactive digital pass options, similar to our current Buy Local Savings Pass and the gamified Buy Local Legacy Pass, which recently ended.

The passes will be coordinated campaigns promoted to residents and visitors to drive foot traffic directly to participating neighborhood spots. Before we build anything new, we want to know 1.) if you would be interested in participating in something like this and 2.) what model actually works best for your business.

We are currently have two formats but can develop more. Here is a summary of the current types.

Bidding and Contracting Opportunities

If you’re looking to expand your reach or secure new work with the City of San Antonio, now is a great time to explore our latest contracting and bidding opportunities. Our procurement portal highlights open solicitations, complete with project details and instructions to help you submit a competitive proposal.

For even more planning support, the Anticipated Solicitations List provides a forward look at projects scheduled for release soon. This monthly update gives small businesses a valuable head start, outlining expected timelines and Small Business Economic Development Advocacy (SBEDA) program features designed to increase local participation.

Public Works Dashboard

The dashboard offers an easy way to quickly find a wealth of information about hundreds of City projects. As the back-to-school season brings a fresh start for families across San Antonio, it’s also a great time for businesses to check in on the infrastructure improvements shaping their neighborhoods.

You can search maps to find bond projects, street, alley, sidewalk, and drainage projects. Click on a project for quick access to its construction timeline, phase, and cost, among other helpful details, giving you the information you need to plan ahead as the busy fall season begins.

Placemaking redefines our physical environment that can be enhanced by a combination of influences such as the arts and existing businesses and establishments that lend a hand in individual neighborhood distinctiveness. Sign Up Your Business for a Neighbors Together Event

As the fall season cools the city down, it is the perfect time to step outside and connect with the community that keeps your business running. San Antonio Neighbors Together event (formerly Neighborhood Night Out) returns on October 6, the first Tuesday of October. The annual event brings residents and San Antonio Police together for a citywide evening focused on crime prevention and building relationships to keep neighborhoods safe.

Everyone is welcome at San Antonio Neighbors Together! Register an event and get involved or find an event near you. The deadline for registering at event is Monday, September 14 to receive full SAPD support.
