June 17th Strategic Housing Plan Steering Committee Meeting

If you missed the meeting on June 17th, you can watch it online! Marcia Perritt, Director of the UNC School of Government Development Finance Initiative, provided an informative presentation on the affordable housing site identification services provided by DFI.

DFI is an organization that advises local governments on how to attract private investment to create affordable housing solutions. Director Perritt gave an overview of projects they have completed across the state and reviewed the scope of work being considered by the City for identifying suitable affordable housing sites. 

The committee made a recommendation for City Council to enter into a contract with DFI to provide site identification services which will be taken up by Council Members at their July 10th meeting. The committee also reviewed a work plan for the development of the Strategic Housing Plan.

Strategic Housing Plan Steering Committee 

Join the committee each month to learn about the supply, stability and subsidy components that will be the foundations of Hendersonville's strategic housing plan. The July agenda will include information from the Town of Chapel Hill who is a leader in creative affordable housing solutions.

The City's Strategic Housing Plan Steering Committee has their next meeting on July 15th at 4:00 PM at the City Operations Center at 305 Williams Street. 

Community members are invited to join in person or virtually via Zoom. We want to learn alongside the community as we collaborate on solutions to complex housing challenges.
