9th Annual Coats for Kids Ugly Sweater Party

Thursday, December 12 | 6:00pm-9:00pm | Dryft Revere (500 Ocean Avenue)

A child walked into Revere City Hall asking for a winter coat because he didn't have one. That's how this all started. These past nine years, WE as a community have raised an extraordinary amount of money, coats, toys, hats and gloves and provided them to children of all ages from all over our surrounding area. We work with Revere Public schools, social workers, local nurses, DCF and other local social programs. Your support this year is needed more than ever. People are struggling to make ends meet through this inflated economy. Parents have to choose whether they put food on the table or winter coats on their children's backs. It's a choice that shouldn't have to be made, but unfortunately, people must make them today. Our goal this year, as always, is to provide as many children as possible with a winter coat. This all depends on YOU. Please share about our December 12th, 2024, 6:00pm-9:00pm event at Dryft Revere. Please come to the event and bring a new winter coat for a child (bigger/older kids too!). Please drop off coats at any of our locations, including City Hall and the Haas Health and Wellness Center, the Wharf, and the Police Station. Every dollar goes to providing children with winter gear.

As always, Thank you for your support and we hope you make it to the event!

As always, thank you for your support and we hope you make it to the event!

Mayor Keefe Moves to Initiate First Phases of New Revere High School Project

Fencing will be installed to secure the Wonderland property for important preliminary on-site tasks

REVERE, MA – The administration of Mayor Patrick M. Keefe Jr. has initiated the early phases of the new Revere High School project. In November, the City will move to install temporary fencing along the front side of the Wonderland property along VFW Parkway and North Shore Road. The fencing will serve to better secure the site as additional site investigations and planning advance in the coming months. Site demolition and preparations are planned to become underway in May/June 2025, and major building construction is planned to commence in August/September 2025.

In the meantime, project consultants and engineers are advancing various on-site tasks including soil investigation and testing, existing utility coordination and survey work. The temporary fencing being installed this month provides the City, project, and current site commercial tenants with an increased ability to control access to the site and provide a safe working area. The current usage of the site by the existing commercial tenants will continue until early 2025, when they will be moved offsite to accommodate the commencement of construction. The new Revere High School is anticipated to open at the beginning of the school year in 2028.

“I am happy to get the ball rolling on the Revere High School project,” commented Mayor Patrick M. Keefe Jr. “It is important that the Wonderland site is secured, so we can work expeditiously to meet our ambitious timeline goals with this project. This is an important milestone that marks the beginning of a long-sought project that benefits students, teachers, and the community at large.”
