Sidewalk Ramp Improvements to Begin on Depot Street

To improve accessibility and safety, crews will begin sidewalk ramp improvements related to the Greenway Connector project starting in late December or early January. (In case you missed it, see our recent update on traffic pattern changes at McDowell and Southside)

Project Schedule & Hours

  • Timeline: Work is expected to last approximately three weeks.

  • Work Days: Monday through Thursday

What to Expect

Please be aware of the following impacts:

  • Traffic Flow: Two-way vehicle traffic will be maintained as much as possible. However, there will be permitted lane closures during the hours of 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

  • Access: All business and residential entrances will remain open.

  • Parking: Some on-street parking will be temporarily closed to accommodate work. We are committed to minimizing these closures whenever possible.

We appreciate your patience as we complete these necessary accessibility upgrades.

The goal of the Greenway Connector project is to increase safety for all users of these streets and to create connectivity in Asheville’s greenway network for recreation and transportation use. To receive email updates, subscribe on the project page.
