Project Activities:

Project Scoping & Budgeting:

  • In October, a project scoping workshop brought together Community Facilitators and City staff from various departments to prepare for the upcoming formal design process.

  • The primary goal was to align all improvement projects within the Eagle/Market Streets area, including the "Boosting the Block" gateway initiative.

  • Following the workshop, City staff is now refining the scopes of work and cost estimates for the forthcoming design phases and an upcoming City Council PEDE presentation in December.

Community Engagement & Capacity Building:

  • Throughout October and November, the Community Facilitator team continued to hold meetings with community members, stakeholders, and The Block Collaborative. These ongoing discussions centered on community connections and key capacity-building priorities for The Block Collaborative.

  • The Block Collaborative and Community Facilitators are advancing two placemaking projects: installing banners and a special bench in partnership with Echoes of the Forest.

Artist/Creative Strategist: Community Vision Translation

We are seeking an Artist/Creative Strategist to translate existing community input into clear, compelling, and accessible visual concepts that will serve as the guiding vision for the future design firm. The deliverable is a cohesive visual package that accurately reflects the community's input and the artistic and cultural elements they would like to see incorporated into the final design.
