This initiative seeks to improve public safety and end traffic fatalities through education, enforcement and engineering projects like crosswalks, bike lanes and better street lighting. Remember: Weather and unforeseen circumstances occasionally prevent closures from occurring as scheduled and make it unsafe to close and/or reopen lanes or streets when planned. When this occurs, The City works directly with appropriate stakeholders to resolve any concerns as quickly as possible and reduce impacts on the traveling public.
Pedestrians walking near event areas should be alert, and cautious and allow extra traveling time. It is advised they cross at signalized intersections, use pedestrian walk signals where available, and abide by detour signage.
Motorists traveling through event areas should be alert and extra cautious. Drivers should proactively obey all signage and constantly be on the lookout for others traveling through event areas.

The event begins at 9 a.m. on Baldwin Avenue, Luther Street, Lillington Avenue, Queens Road, Hermitage Road, Granville Road, Queens Road, S. Kings Drive, Luther Street and finishing off of Baldwin Avenue.
Event organizers expect 500 participants.

September 21: ZERO Prostate Cancer Walk/Run

|
|
|
The event begins at 8 a.m. in the parking lot of Armored Cow Brewing off of JW Clay Boulevard. They will take JW Clay Boulevard to the Barton Creek Greenway, then to the Mallard Creek Greenway. They will then turn around and return on the same route.
Event organizers expect 300 participants.

September 22: 5K at Five Points Plaza
|
|
|
|
The event begins at 8 a.m. at the dead end of State Street, they will take State Street to the Stewart Creek Greenway through Seversville Park, onto Lela Avenue, Wesley Heights Greenway, then they will turn around and return to the Stewart Creek Greenway and finish off of State Street.
Event organizers expect 200 participants.

|
|
|

The event begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk will start at 10 a.m. They will start at the intersection of N. Brevard Street and E. 7th Street. They will go down E. 7th Street, Charlottetowne Avenue, Park Drive, around Independence Park, back to E. 7th Street, and will return to N. Brevard Street.
Event organizers expect 1,000 participants.

The event begins at 9 a.m. They will start at the intersection of S. Mint Street and W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. They will take W. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to S. Tryon Street, W. Park Avenue, S. Mint Street, W. Bland Street, Winnifred Street, W. Carson Boulevard, S. Mint Street, and returning to W. 3rd Street.
Event organizers expect 5,000 participants.

The event begins at 4 p.m. They will start at the intersection of Mecklenburg Avenue and The Plaza. They will go down The Plaza and turn left onto Hamerton Place. They will end on Hamerton Place just before Landis Avenue.

Event hours are 10 a.m. to 12:30 a.m.
The following streets will close at 6 a.m. and reopen at 6 p.m.
- Mint Street between Morehead Street and First Street
- Graham Street between Mint Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard
- Brooklyn Village Avenue from Mint Street and Church Street
Event organizers expect 2,500 people.

October 5: 3rd Annual Historic Hoskins Community Parade

The event begins at 10 a.m. at Carolina Farm Trust Market at 511 South Hoskins Road. They will take S. Hoskins Road down to Gossett Avenue, turn right onto Gossett Avenue, and walk to Eva B. Barber Park. The walk will end inside the park.

October 5: Hola Charlotte 2024

Event hours are 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Tryon Street from Brooklyn Village Avenue to 4th Street will close on October 4 at 7 p.m. and will reopen at 11:30 p.m.
Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard between Church Street and College Street and 3rd Street between Church Street and College Street will close on October 5 at 6 a.m. and reopen at 11:30 p.m.
Event organizers expect 10,000 people.

This event begins at 4 p.m. at the East City Church on McLaughlin Drive. They will take McLaughlin Drive to Coatbridge Lane, Donegal Drive, Knell Drive, Knickerbocker Drive, Melba Drive, Old Post Road, Beechdale Drive. They will then take this loop a second time turning onto Knell Drive off of Coatbridge Lane, and go over to Old Post Road, then finishing back at East City Church.
Event Organizers expect 600 participants.

They will go down Beatties Ford Road towards North Hoskins Road, turn right onto Hoskins Road, to Cricketeer Drive, Plumstead Road, Northbrook Drive, Dawnshire Avenue, McAllister Drive, Plumstead Road, Griers Grove Road, Beatties Ford Road, and returning to the Marizetta Kerry Child Development Center.

Uptown Sidewalk Riding Restrictions |
|
Sidewalk riding is allowed except in the area of Uptown bound by Church St., Brooklyn Village Ave., College St., and 7th St. This restriction is for bikes, e-bikes, and e-scooters. When riding on sidewalks, be visible, courteous, and yield to pedestrians at all times.
