New Town Radio Show on WSIC News

Updates to the Town's Public Comment and Public Hearing Policy

The Town Board of Commissioners approved an update to the Public Comment and Public Hearing Policy Amendment in their meeting on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. 

The main changes to the policy include:

  • Speaker sign-up sheets will be accepted until five (5) minutes prior to the designated meeting start time
  • Clarifies that speakers should not expect Board members to comment on or respond to their comments directly
  • Speakers under the age of 18 are not required to list their addresses on the speaker sign-up sheets

CATS Announces Opportunities to Learn More About New Microtransit Service

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will host in-person town hall and pop-up meetings to educate and engage with the public regarding its new microtransit service, CATS Micro. During these meetings, CATS staff will share information about how to use the service and guide attendees through the booking process. CATS Micro is set to launch Monday, Feb. 24, 2025.

Two meetings are set for Huntersville:

  • Thursday, Feb. 6 from noon-1:30 p.m. at Huntersville Town Hall (101 Huntersville-Concord Road, Huntersville, NC 28078)
  • Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 4-6 p.m. at Huntersville Gateway Park & Ride (10300 Compass St., Huntersville, NC 28078)

Decisions from the Dais

During the Jan. 21, 2025, Town Board meeting, the Town Board voted to approve funding for the North Mecklenburg Park Greenway construction. The North Mecklenburg Park Greenway is a one mile greenway that will connect the Hamptons neighborhood, the Harvest Pointe neighborhood and other neighborhoods along N.C. 73 to North Mecklenburg Park.
