| Belle Haven Community Campus grand opening May 18
The City of Menlo Park and its partners proudly announce the grand opening of the Belle Haven Community Campus (BHCC) Saturday, May 18. Opening celebrations will commence with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 11 a.m., and include tours of the facility, live local music, food and activities for children and families. The new campus includes a public gymnasium, fitness center, movement studio, makerspace and event hall as well as indoor and outdoor gathering spaces... Click to continue

| April is National Earthquake Preparedness Month
During Earthquake Preparedness Month, the state is sharing multilingual resources and calling on Californians to sign up for alerts through the state’s first-in-the-nation Earthquake Early Warning System to prepare for the next big one. The MyShake App is now available in English, Spanish, Chinese (traditional), Vietnamese, Korean and Filipino. | Menlo Park celebrates Arbor Day with mayoral tree planting
Four young trees were planted at the Belle Haven Child Development Center to celebrate Arbor Day on April 9. This year, National Arbor Day is on April 26. The City partners with a nonprofit organization, Canopy, to assist with the tree plantings. The kids from the Center joined Mayor Cecilia Taylor, the Environmental Quality Commission and City staff in planting four ceremonial trees... Click to continue

The City of Menlo Park is developing its first Environmental Justice Element and updating the Safety Element of the General Plan, while also implementing the recently certified Housing Element. The City is hosting community workshops in English (May 9) and Spanish (May 2) to gather more input from the public and share information regarding changes made to the draft Environmental Justice and Safety Elements. Come join the City of Menlo Park and our housing partners at the upcoming Housing Resource Fair, May 11 from 1–4 p.m. for Affordable Housing Month! This event will offer information on affordable housing opportunities, housing rehabilitation support and more.
