Annual Street Resurfacing Project Resumes
Every three years, Apex evaluates street conditions for town-owned roads, to determine which areas should be prioritized for resurfacing. Work begins in the next few weeks in the Amherst and Scotts Mill neighborhoods. Residents in these neighborhoods will receive notice prior to the start of work.
This project is done in four phases. Curb ramp reconstruction happens first, followed by asphalt milling and repairs, asphalt surface paving, then pavement marking. Depending on the exact scope of work involved, you can expect to see days without active work between each phase due to contractor / subcontractor scheduling, or inclement weather.

More Downtown Parking! (on Moore)

Laura Duncan Road Sidewalk Construction Begins Soon
In early March, construction will begin on a project that addresses a high-priority need in the town's Safe Routes to School program. This completes a sidewalk gap along the east side of Laura Duncan Road, between Pinewood Drive and Knollwood Drive.
If this portion of road is part of your daily commute, we encourage you to allow extra driving time for possible delays, or consider an alternate route during construction.

Cricket Pitch Installation Underway at Jaycee Park
A small portion of the grass soccer fields at Jaycee Park is being replaced with artificial turf, for use as the town’s first cricket amenity. This youth-sized turf cricket pitch will meet a need for this sport, which is growing in popularity in Apex.
Once complete, the Jaycee Park field will be available for rentals, with potential for future town programming. When not in use for cricket programming, the field will be open for general, multi-use play.
