State Street | North Temple to 400 S Paving
CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
July 31, 2025
We’re pleased to report that the paving project on State Street in Salt Lake is nearly complete. A huge thanks goes out to our crews for keeping the work moving efficiently and safely. In the coming week, crews will wrap up a few remaining items, which will require occasional rolling single-lane closures. The project is on track to be substantially finished by August 8. We sincerely appreciate your patience as we’ve worked to improve this important road for all who use it.

Work Hours: Night Work (7pm - 6am)
Workdays: Sunday Night - Friday Morning
Project Total Duration: Approximately 75 days
Schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions and material availability.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES & TRAFFIC IMPACTS
07/30 - 08/07: Crews will be completing raising utilities, lane stripping operations, and other various work. Work will require rolling lane closures with barrels directing them into open lanes.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) will resurface State Street (SR-186) from North Temple to 400 S in Salt Lake County. The project objectives are aimed at preserving the life of the road. This paving process will help increase the longevity of the road surface, address road imperfections and enhance motorist safety by providing a smoother, more durable road. Additional work includes upgraded pedestrian ramps to meet ADA compliance, refreshed lane painting/striping. See our project website for more details.

For your safety and the safety of those working in the area, please use extra caution, reduce speeds, and follow all posted signs and signals when driving through construction zones. Barrels and other traffic control devices are placed to guide motorists safely through the work zone, and to protect the project team.
