| KCIA is planning for the future
King County International Airport (KCIA) is undertaking two studies to plan for the future of the airport: the Vision 2045 Airport Plan and the Part 150 Study. Community involvement is a critical part of these studies and will help to influence the priorities and strategies that will shape the future of KCIA.

| What’s happening now
The study team is completing the Visioning phase of the Vision 2045 Airport Plan study. During this phase, they will continue to ask for input on Vision 2045 goals and objectives that will help evaluate future analyses, alternatives, and decisions. They want to hear your ideas! Share your input on Vision 2045 goals and objectives.
The study team is now working on the Investigation phase. They recently submitted a draft aviation forecast to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). They also collected data and used that to create a draft inventory of existing conditions. The NEMs show current and projected noise levels in and around KCIA. There will be opportunities to give input about the Part 150 Study NEMs later this summer.
How you can provide feedback:
The study team will ask for community feedback on important study topics like safety, noise, environmental impacts, and use of the airport.
- Project Advisory Committee (PAC)
- Conversations with community-based organizations
- Public meetings and open houses
- Website updates and project emails
- Postcard mailers
- Community events and briefings

| Community input helps inform our planning process
Thank you to the community members, the neighborhood residents, and airport tenants who attended the first Project Advisory Committee (PAC) meeting this spring and our Public Meeting and Open House in June. A summary from our first PAC meeting is available on the PAC web page. A public meeting and open house summary and other meeting materials will be available on the project website soon.
The study team knows there are competing demands for everyone's time and appreciates all the input they have received from individuals and organizations so far. The input will help ensure that diverse perspectives shape KCIA’s future.

| Vision 2045 Airport Plan and Part 150 Study overview
Vision 2045 and the Part 150 Study are separate but related efforts. The study team is sharing information about both efforts to make it as easy as possible for the community to participate and share input.
Vision 2045 Airport Plan Update
- Will create a plan for KCIA to evolve and adapt to meet aviation needs and maintain its status as a world-class airport
- Identifies projects KCIA would implement to continue to operate safely and efficiently while meeting changing aviation demand
- Follows long-range facility planning guidance from the Federal Aviation Administration and accounts for potential environmental and socioeconomic impacts
Part 150 Study Noise and Land Use Compatibility Study
- A voluntary Federal Aviation Administration noise study
- Measures how much airplane noise is affecting noise exposure for people on the ground
- Creates processes or programs to address effects of airplane noise
- Will be used to inform the Vision 2045 Airport Plan
