Thanksgiving Travel Expected to Break Records
A good rule of thumb this holiday season: Don't Fly by the Seat of Your Pants.
The Thanksgiving travel season is expected to be busier and longer than ever. Between now and the Monday after Thanksgiving, Airport traffic is expected to climb 14% higher than last year, and 9% higher than the record-breaking 2019. That means crowds and lines to prepare for.
What’s unusual this year is that air travel is likely to be high for the last two weeks of November instead of concentrated around the few days before and after Thanksgiving. So, if you booked travel earlier or later to avoid the crowds, you’re not alone.

Checkpoint 1 Open
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) started processing passengers in CLT’s new Checkpoint 1 just in time for the holiday travel season.
The security screening area has six Automated Screening Lanes that can each service multiple people at once. The TSA says that technology will enable Checkpoint 1 to screen 20% to 30% more passengers than other checkpoints. Watch the video.

Traveling With Pets
- Verify your pet’s carrier fits the airline’s size, shape and material requirements.
- Leave the carrier in an open area of your home a few days before traveling and a favorite toy or small blanket that smells like you inside to make the journey less stressful.
- For your pet’s safety, please do not allow them on moving sidewalks or escalators.
