Join the Jan. 14 City Council meeting to provide feedback and/or listen as City Council continues its review from Nov. 19, 2024, to explore development on up to three of the City-owned downtown parking lots. City Council will potentially take action on a declaration of Parking Plazas 1, 2 and 3 as exempt surplus land and a draft request for qualifications (RFQ) that prioritizes development of affordable housing and replacement public parking and allows for a mix of uses such as ground-floor retail, commercial space and market-rate residential units... | How California's new ‘daylighting’ law affects you

As of Jan. 1, it is illegal to park, stop or stand a vehicle within 20 feet of a crosswalk (marked or unmarked) or within 15 feet of a crosswalk with a curb extension or bulb-out. This applies only on the approach side of the road leading to the crosswalk. Vehicles parking at any intersection or mid-block crossing where the new law prohibits parking will be in violation and subject to ticketing... Click to continue

Recology holiday tree collection is now taking place through Jan. 31! Reminder to remove ALL stands, ornaments and lights from your tree. | California Competes Tax Credit application period now open

The first California Competes Tax Credit application period starts today, Jan. 6. The California Competes Tax Credit is an income tax credit available to businesses of all industries that want to locate in California or stay and grow in California and create quality, full-time jobs in the state. Any business can apply for the California Competes Tax Credit. The California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC) application details and other resources are available on the California Competes website.
