Define Huntersville

The Town of Huntersville is working on telling our story and defining who we are. The project is called Define Huntersville. We need your help so that our story and our identity is accurate, honest and reflects what makes our community unique. This place making and branding initiative will give us a story we can all proudly share.

Help us share our story. This will be a very public process that will take approximately four to six months to complete. Visit the Define Huntersville page to learn more, and take a quick survey online to help our branding effort.

Define Huntersville Help Us Tell Our Story

Huntersville Maintains AAA Bond Ratings

The Town of Huntersville recently received a AAA bond ratings from both Moody’s Ratings and S&P Global Ratings for its 2024 General Obligation bonds, which voters approved by an overwhelming majority during the last election cycle. These ratings are both the highest possible rating from either agency. Additionally, S&P Global Ratings designated the outlook for these bonds as stable. These ratings reflect the ratings agencies’ view of Huntersville’s strong financial operations in the face of service expansion due to rapid population growth. Read more on our website.

Town Wins $240K Grant for Safe Roads Action Plan

The Town of Huntersville has been awarded $240,000 through the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Discretionary Grant program. Huntersville’s Planning Department will use the federal funding to develop a Safe Roads Action Plan.  Huntersville is dedicated to addressing safety issues for all road users in the town.  Residents can expect to see a final plan report sometime in early 2026. Read more on our website.

Tree Survey Being Conducted at Holbrook Park

As part of a proposed Holbrook Park Parking lot expansion the Town of Huntersville is conducting a tree survey of the site, which is required by the Town’s Zoning Ordinance. Park patrons will see many large trees in the park with pink ribbons around them. These ribbons are to identify certain size trees and do not mean those trees will be removed.

Any proposed parking lot expansion will not impact the playground and no trees will be removed near the playground. Since we are in the early stages of this project, conducting a tree survey, and creating a design, there is not yet a firm number for how many trees will be removed.
