Update on Former Cashion's Property

In September 2024, the Town of Huntersville successfully acquired the former Cashion’s gas station property downtown. This acquisition was made possible through a $3 million state grant aimed at enhancing the Town's ongoing downtown revitalization efforts. In January 2025, all utilities to the site were terminated, and demolition activities were completed in February 2025.

Looking ahead, the Town will install a 12-foot multiuse pedestrian path from the downtown greenway through the parcel over to 760 Craft Works. After that, the Town is looking at future transportation improvement for the intersection of Old Statesville and Gilead Roads, one of the busiest intersections in town. There are no other immediate plans for development at this time.

State of the Town

Mayor Christy Clark gave her inaugural State of the Town address on March 27 at Huntersville Town Hall.

“We have come so far. And I believe the best is yet to come. Every challenge we overcome opens new doors of opportunity,” she said. “The State of our Town is strong and thriving. Huntersville continues to be a place where so many people want to live, raise families and pursue a better life. And with your passion, dedication, and belief in Huntersville, our future will be even brighter.”

Following her speech, Mayor Clark, members of the Town Board, Town staff and Representative Beth Helfrich answered questions from the crowd. You can find the full State of the Town address on our YouTube channel.
