Board of Education Applicants Sought
Vacancy Created by Allen's Resignation
FREDERICK, Md. – County Executive Jessica Fitzwater announced she is seeking applicants to fill an open seat on the Board of Education. The vacancy was created by current Board Member Nancy Allen's resignation, which is effective December 1.
Under State law, when a vacancy is created on the board, the County Executive is responsible for appointing a person to that position, with confirmation by the County Council.
To be eligible, a person must be a resident of Frederick County and be registered to vote here. Anyone interested in serving on the Board should submit a letter of interest and resumé by email to FCGBoards@FrederickCountyMD.gov, or mail to the Office of the County Executive, 12 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, no later than 4 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10. The County Executive will interview a limited number of the most qualified applicants.
Allen’s term expires in December 2026.
