| Solar panel installation coming to Menlo Park Library June 17

With support from Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE), the City will install solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on the Menlo Park Library located at 800 Alma St. Construction is anticipated to start June 17 and take approximately eight weeks, without affecting building hours of operation. | Coleman Avenue Pilot Project expected to be installed this summer

On April 29, City Council approved removing parking from the north side of the City portion of Coleman Avenue and installing a stop sign on Coleman Avenue and Santa Monica Avenue to allow sufficient roadway space for the pilot. The pilot will be installed in late-June/early-July to improve accessibility and mobility on Coleman Avenue from Willow Road to the City/County boundary... Click to continue

The Menlo Park Police Department is introducing a new public facing law enforcement platform, Citizen Records Information Management Systems (RIMS). This portal replaces the police department’s previous open data portal. | Proposal deadline for Park Ranger Services June 23

The City of Menlo Park is seeking a well-qualified contractor to submit proposals for ranger services at City parks. Scope of work may include performing daily patrols, enforcing park regulations, collecting litter and suppressing fire as needed. Electronic proposals will be accepted on the City’s PlanetBids Portal through Monday, June 23, at 5 p.m. Please note that submitters must be pre-registered with the City’s bidding system to submit an electronic proposal. | Solid waste and water discount program to conclude June 30

The City Council extended the rate assistance program that provides assistance for those suffering financial hardship. The extended program runs through June 30. Qualified households may receive a 20% monthly discount on solid waste service from Recology San Mateo County and a fixed monthly discount on the fixed meter charge from Menlo Park Municipal Water... | Gas is out, electric is in: Ordinance enforcement begins July 1

Starting July 1, Menlo Park’s ban on gas-powered leaf blowers and string trimmers will move into its enforcement phase. Under the City’s Zero Emission Landscaping Equipment (ZELE) Ordinance, operating gas-powered tools within the City is prohibited to reduce air and noise pollution and support a cleaner, healthier environment... An emergency replacement of a broken water heater can be super stressful. Peninsula Clean Energy (PCE) has a new service that aims to make it easier — and a lot cleaner.
