Attend Menlo Park’s upcoming City Council meeting Tuesday, June 3. City Council will start with a closed session at 5:30 p.m., followed by the public meeting at 6 p.m.

| Overnight Ramp Closure on U.S. 101 off-ramp at University Avenue in East Palo Alto from 9 p.m. June 2 – 5 a.m. June 3

Caltrans has scheduled an overnight closure of northbound U.S. 101 University Avenue off-ramp on June 2 at 9 p.m. The ramp will be closed so crews can safely perform roadway paving and electrical work. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time for their commute. Changeable messaging signs (CMS) and detours signs will be posted. Please drive with caution... Click to continue

| Flood Park Opening Celebration and Playground Groundbreaking June 7

Join the Flood Park opening celebration and playground groundbreaking Saturday, June 7 at 10 a.m. at 215 Bay Road, Menlo Park. The community is invited to celebrate the opening of all recently completed park facilities and the groundbreaking for the new playground. | Spanish interpretation and free shuttle from BHCC to the June 10 Budget Hearing

At the June 10 City Council meeting, the fiscal year 2025-26 Budget Hearing will take place. City Council will have the opportunity to discuss the budget and community members are encouraged to provide feedback. A shuttle bus from the Belle Haven Community Campus (BHCC) at 100 Terminal Ave. will be available for transport to the in-person meeting at City Council Chambers, 751 Laurel Ave. The City of Menlo Park held a Budget Workshop on May 29 for the proposed fiscal year 2025-26 budget. | Construction starting for the 2025 Street Resurfacing project

The City will soon begin construction for the 2025 Street Resurfacing project. The project is part of the five-year street maintenance program to keep public streets in good condition by performing annual pavement repairs City-wide. This year, the project will improve 14 city streets across five districts and includes asphalt resurfacing, traffic signing and striping and minor concrete improvements (curb ramp upgrades at select locations)... | Middle Avenue Complete Streets project to begin construction

The City will soon begin construction of the Middle Avenue Complete Streets project. The scope of work consists of bicycle and pedestrian improvements between Olive Street and El Camino Real (including rapid flashing beacons, speed humps/tables, traffic signing and striping and curb ramp upgrades). | City Council to discuss Santa Cruz Avenue 600-Block Closure on June 10

In August 2023, the City Council closed a portion of Santa Cruz Avenue, between Curtis and Doyle Streets, to eastbound vehicular traffic to allow for enhanced outdoor communal space and outdoor dining opportunities for restaurants adjacent to the street closure. At the June 10 meeting, the City Council will consider options for the closed 600-block of Santa Cruz Avenue, including reopening the street to vehicles, maintaining the closure and improving the outdoor picnic seating... | Upcoming waste checks of residential and commercial bins

On behalf of the City of Menlo Park, Recology will perform waste checks of residential carts and commercial bin contents. The reviews start in June and will last for 10–13 weeks throughout the summer. Recology’s Waste Zero Specialists will audit randomly selected collection containers on each collection route for solid waste, recyclable materials and organic materials for commercial and residential customers... | City seeks proposals for Park Ranger Services through June 23

The City of Menlo Park is seeking a well-qualified contractor to submit proposals for ranger services at City parks. Scope of work may include performing daily patrols, enforcing park regulations, collecting litter and suppressing fire as needed. Electronic proposals will be accepted on the City’s PlanetBids Portal through Monday, June 23, at 5 p.m. Please note that submitters must be pre-registered with the City’s bidding system to submit an electronic proposal.
