The City of Menlo Park and its partners are thrilled to announce the reopening of Belle Haven Pool. This beautiful, all-new community swim center is located at the Belle Haven Community Campus, 100 Terminal Ave. Menlo Park’s new community swim center will open for summer swimming starting Monday, May 20.

Belle Haven Pool is a state-of-the-art aquatic facility located in the Belle Haven Community Campus. Menlo Park's new community swim center features a performance pool, instructional pool, family-friendly splash pad, locker rooms, indoor and outdoor showers, family restrooms and a beautiful pool deck with a variety of seating options for swimmers and families.

As part of the new Belle Haven Community Campus, Belle Haven Pool visitors also will enjoy easy access to a brand-new gymnasium, recreation center, fitness center, public library, senior center, teen zone and other amenities. Next door at Kelly Park, visitors enjoy an outdoor running track, exercise stations, tennis and pickleball courts, outdoor basketball courts and a lighted athletic field.

Belle Haven Pool is operated by aquatics partner Menlo Swim and Sport under contract with City of Menlo Park. The new pool will be open seven days per week, year-round. Learn more.

The Summer Open Swim Family Pass is back and now with an Extended Summer option! Family Pass includes up to five family members. Additional family members can be added for a small additional cost. The 2024 Summer Open Swim Family Pass is available for use at both city-owned pools. Belle Haven Pool and Burgess Pool are operated by aquatics partner Menlo Swim and Sport under contract with the City of Menlo Park. Belle Haven Community Campus Grand Opening May 18

Join us for the grand opening of Belle Haven Community Campus, 100 Terminal Ave., on Saturday, May 18 at 11 a.m.! Participate in the ribbon cutting, tours, family activities, local food, entertainment and more. Onsite parking is limited. Kelly Field Parking Lot Closures

The Kelly Field parking lot is closed from May 13-17. Please avoid the parking lot while crews prepare to disassemble and remove the portable classrooms. Kelly Park is located in Menlo Park's Belle Haven neighborhood at 100 Terminal Ave. Learn more.

 

Bike to the Library Day

Drop into the library during Menlo Park’s Bike to the Library Day for a “wheelie” special storytime! It’ll be a fun, inclusive and interactive event blending reading, signing, movement and wordplay to help promote reading and communication skills. Our bike-themed books will be “geared” towards a pre-school age audience, but all kids with their grownups are welcome to join in on the fun! For the bike skills course, please sign up for a slot here. Please email the Safe Routes to School Coordinator with any questions about the event. It happens on Thursday, May 16 at 3:15 p.m. at Menlo Park Library, 800 Alma St.

 

Asian American Storytopia!

In recognition of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, we present a team-up of seasoned professional storytellers! Join us for fun and fascinating tales for “the young and the young at heart, ages eight to 108.” Storytellers Eleanor Clement Glass, Megumi, Roopa Mohan and Linda Yemoto will share an entrancing, diverse sampling of stories representing many parts of the Asian diaspora. Our Global Language Storytime features a different language each month. This time, enjoy a fun all-in-Japanese program for children ages two-five with their grownups, featuring picture books, finger plays, puppets, kamishibai panel theater and more. Teen Film Fridays

Teens, join us for a movie each week in the library teen zone! Teen Film Fridays feature a different movie each week and snacks are provided! Each film is rated PG-13 or lower. Drop in and find out what the movie of the week is and use the suggestion box in the Teen Zone to request movies you’d like to see in the future. This free event received funding support from the Friends of the Menlo Park Library. Movies are shown every Friday afternoon from 3:30–5:30 p.m. at Menlo Park Library, 800 Alma St. Learn more.

20240504 Register to play in the summer 3v3 basketball tournament

The annual 3v3 summer basketball tournament is a great opportunity to showcase your skills, have some fun and battle it out for the championship title. Gear up for fast-paced games, bragging rights and great prizes. This year is a single division, winner takes all. Teams may have a maximum of four players. Teams are guaranteed four round robin games before being seeded for the playoff bracket. Games will take place at Arrillaga Family Gymnasium on Saturday, July 6 from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. The team fee is $100. Spots fill up fast. Head over to our website to secure your team's spot today!

20240511 Meditative Banig Drawing Workshop

For ages ten-Adult: Join us for a soothing drawing session as you practice recreating classic Filipino line patterns! Banig are traditional Filipino handwoven mats. Artist Kenneth Tan will teach you how to draw simple line patterns inspired by Filipino tattoos and weaving.
