DDA Board Approves Strategic Transition

The Cheyenne DDA's Cost-Benefit Task Force has recommended a transition to the City of Cheyenne's Community Recreation & Events (CRE) Department from its current home in the Planning & Development Department. The goal of this transition is to strengthen the DDA's capacity to implement projects and initiatives outlined in the 2024 Plan of Development and overall downtown vitality.

Following a year-long review of the DDA's long-term effectiveness, stability, and capacity, the DDA Board held a special meeting and approved the task force's recommendation, along with an amendment to the current DDA and City of Cheyenne MOU for FY27.

The amended MOU will now move through City Finance Committee before going to City Council for final consideration on August 24, 2026.
