- City Council District 10

An message from the Office of District 10:

Farewell but not goodbye!

I write this letter filled with immense gratitude and yet also a high level of sadness, to inform the District 10 community that I am resigning my position as Chief of Staff for City Council District 10 effective January 2, 2023. It has been the highest honor of my professional life to serve the district that raised me, to be a part of an amazing team of people, and to work for the City of San Antonio. Together, under the leadership of Councilmen Mike Gallagher and Clayton Perry, we have worked on and accomplished amazing things; from implementing a hands-free while driving ordinance, establishing (and recently increasing) the first ever homestead exemption for the City’s portion of the property tax bill, fielding and appropriately addressing thousands of neighborhood requests, attending and coordinating multiple fun and educational events and much more. The District 10 teams, past and present, have always striven to provide the highest level of service to our community, and I am proud of the work we’ve collectively achieved.

I owe a debt of gratitude to both Councilman Gallagher and Councilman Perry for providing me the opportunity to serve District 10, and for having faith in me to lead their teams. Since 2014, I have had the pleasure of serving both council members with the persistent goal of providing the highest level of public service to them and to our constituents (neighbors) who entrusted us with occupying their council office. I have learned and grown so much over the past nearly 8 years, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to serve the public, as well as work alongside all of my colleagues (past and present).

I also want to sincerely thank all of the hardworking and dedicated City employees who have helped me along the way, provided me with the guidance and information that I needed to be successful in my role – and especially for all of those who do the work on the front lines to keep us safe and keep our city operating. Thank you a million times over!

Working as Chief of Staff for District 10 was a dream come true and my time here will always be special to me. I am not going too far, as I will now be serving as Chief of Staff for Commissioner Grant Moody - Bexar County Precinct 3 (which covers a large part of District 10!). If you need me – please do not hesitate to reach out!

As I sign off and pass the torch to Jarvis Soileau who will fill this role, please know that as long as I am a public servant, I will do my best to make you proud. My new email with Bexar County Precinct 3 is: paul.jimenez@bexar.org

Thank you District 10 - although this is my farewell, it is not my goodbye!

Paul C. Jimenez
