Project Update - Beaufort Roundabout Project

Construction is progressing well on the Beaufort Roundabout (U-6058) project. Waterline work is now complete, and all new water lines are active. Sanitary sewer installation is progressing along Live Oak Street toward the intersection.

Curb and gutter have been formed and poured for the majority of this section, and the sidewalk is expected to be formed and poured this week. Crescent Drive, Fairview Drive and Carteret Drive have all been patched with asphalt. In addition, more asphalt will be placed on the roadway as crews continue bringing the road closer to final grade.

The project remains on schedule, with Live Oak Street expected to reopen in early September. After Live Oak Street reopens, a closure of N.C. 101 north of Live Oak Street will occur from early September through mid-November. Once that work is completed, the Live Oak Street and N.C. 101 intersection will close entirely as the final phase of construction begins.
