
Upcoming Pipeline Tunnel Projects

The project teams will present two upcoming pipeline tunnel projects to generate interest, feedback, and discussion:
McNeil Drive Water Transmission Main
- What: Installation of approximately 8,500 linear feet of 72-inch diameter pipeline along McNeil Drive using a two-pass tunneling method.
- Where: Northwest Austin, from the Jollyville Reservoir Site near the intersection of Highway 183 and McNeil Drive to a tie-in point near McNeil Drive and West Parmer Lane.
- Why: To provide increased capacity for moving drinking water from the Handcox Water Treatment Plant to customers in Northwest Austin.
- When: A request for Competitive Sealed Proposals (CSP) is anticipated to be released in late 2024.

Williamson Creek Wastewater Interceptor
- What: Over 18,800 linear feet of 72-inch diameter gravity wastewater interceptor installed using a two-pass tunneling method.
- Where: South Central Austin, within the Williamson Creek Watershed and extending along Williamson Creek from East of Pleasant Valley Road to South First Street.
- Why: To increase capacity, replace aging infrastructure, and reduce the potential for future sanitary sewer overflows to protect the environment.
- When: A request for Competitive Sealed Proposals (CSP) is anticipated to be released in late 2024 or 2025.
