Work continues in the Columbia Oaks Drive area. Three rows of box culvert have been installed, with a few remaining sections near Columbia Oaks Court. While we wait for approval on traffic control changes needed to finish those sections, we will begin installing box culvert on J. Gregg Cove. This work is expected to take about one month.
Driveway access on J. Gregg Cove will be maintained. If we are working directly in front of your driveway, please allow a little extra time for us to safely cover the excavation so that you can get in and out.

Texas Gas Service continues utility relocation on Woodcrest Drive, which is expected to finish in early October. After that, they will begin work at Oak Knoll Drive and Jollyville Road, which is expected to last about one month.

Once gas relocation is complete, we will begin relocating water and wastewater lines along Woodcrest Drive starting from the public utility easement and moving towards the Chelsea Moor Pond. The utility relocation is needed to make space to later install the storm drain. This work is expected to take about two months. During this work, the road will either be reduced to one lane with flaggers directing traffic or a detour will be in place when a full road closure is required.

Map shows the six color-coded phases of work. Current and upcoming work on Columbia Oaks Drive, J Gregg Cove, and Columbia Oaks Court is shown in purple. Upcoming utility relocation continues along Woodcrest Drive (in orange) and moving towards the Chelsea Moor Pond. Please note that multiple phases may be worked in tandem, and the phase order does not indicate the exact order of all construction efforts.

We will need to shut off water periodically to complete some of the work for this project. We will leave a notice on the front door of affected homes 48 hours in advance with two exceptions:
-
There is always the possibility of a temporary, loss of water or other service if a pipe or line is broken. We’ll respond immediately to restore service if this happens. We have done extensive research ahead of time to pinpoint where all the underground utilities are. This should avoid unplanned outages.
If your residence is to be affected by a planned outage, please consider storing water in a pitcher or bathtub in order to have water supplies on hand during the shutoff. When services are restored, please flush your lines by running a cold-water bathtub spigot and an outside faucet for 10-15 minutes before using other faucets. This rids the system of any natural sediment buildup that may have occurred over the years. It’s helpful to rinse out faucet screens as well.
Austin Water Dispatch is available 24/7 at 512-972-1000 for any water-related issues.
