Senior Center special event: Mexican Independence Day
For Menlo Park older adults ages 60+ and their adult family and friends. Prepare your most colorful outfit and come to enjoy a delicious meal and dance to live Mariachi band music. Rebound Basketball

These fun and engaging sessions will help young players develop their skills, from basic dribbling and shooting to more advanced techniques for older players. Led by experienced coaches, Rebound Basketball focuses on teamwork, fitness and building confidence on the court. There's a class for every skill level. GYMGUYZ Martial Arts offers tailored training for ages six-11. Using theater games, participants will train to act without a script and explore character, activity and environment to spontaneously create scenes and make the invisible visible. We will delve into who (character), what (activity) and where (environment) with imaginative workshops, culminating with short-form improvisation games. Adult boxing will include boxing fundamentals, specifically focusing on footwork and proper punching technique. Students in this class will learn basic combinations, offense and defense while doing a full-body cardio workout. Students will come away knowing how to jab, throw power punches and counter punches. - Native Bird Connections: Join Native Bird Connections for a journey into the world of Raptors, also known as birds of prey. Live, non-releasable raptors, plus taxidermy and artifacts will accompany this lively, informative program. Learn about how raptors experience their world, how they become non-releasable and what we can do to help birds of prey survive the changing environment. - Melanated Women Read: Dances: Melanated Women Read is a book discussion group by and especially for Black women. This month, we'll read "Dances" by Nicole Cuffy.
