Belle Haven Community Campus parking lot closure June 3 - 7

From June 3 - 7, portions of the Belle Haven Community Campus parking lot will be closed for construction. Other areas of the lot will remain open for visitor parking. We encourage visitors to the Belle Haven Community Campus to utilize other forms of transportation to reduce parking necessity and increase your convenience during this time. Free compost giveaway event June 8 – 9

Spring is here and the flowers are blooming! Does your soil need more nutrients to create a lavish garden? You’re in luck! Residents can pick up free compost at the Burgess Park parking lot at the corner of Alma Street and Burgess Drive. Compost will be available from 8 a.m. until supplies last June 8 – 9. No Caltrain service June 8 - 9

Caltrain

As part of their electric train testing, Caltrain will suspend weekend service between San Francisco and San Jose on June 8 and 9. A limited Bus Bridge service for Caltrain-dependent riders will be put in place and stop at only three stations: San Jose Diridon, Palo Alto and Millbrae. There will be no service in Menlo Park and no bus bridge between San Francisco and Millbrae. Menlo Park commuters can board the SamTrans ECR bus bound for the Palo Alto station, where they can switch to a replacement bus connecting to San Jose and Millbrae. Atherton El Camino Complete Streets Corridor Study

Complete Streets Study

The Town of Atherton is conducting a Complete Streets Corridor Study on El Camino Real between Selby Lane and Valparaiso Avenue to enhance safety and quality of life to all users along the corridor. The City of Menlo Park is a key stakeholder in the project with one end of the corridor within its city limits. You’re invited to share your feedback on existing conditions and your thoughts on how to improve mobility, safety, and overall quality of life along El Camino Real. Upcoming waste checks of residential and commercial bins

Wastebin checks

RethinkWaste and Recology, on behalf of the City of Menlo Park, will perform waste checks of residential carts and commercial bin contents. These annual reviews, required by the State of California and Senate Bill (SB) 1383: State organics law, are performed to monitor contamination levels of each of the waste streams (garbage, recycling, and compost). The reviews start in June and will last for 10-12 weeks throughout the summer... Click to continue

Zero-emission landscape equipment (ZELE) requirement begins July 1

Starting July 1, the City of Menlo Park will enforce a new ordinance requiring the use of zero emission (manual, electric or battery powered) landscaping equipment, starting with leaf blowers and string trimmers. On July 11, 2023 the City Council adopted a zero-emission landscape equipment (ZELE) requirement that prohibits using gas powered landscaping equipment due to its negative impacts... Click to continue
