문화예술학과: Bloom at Blossom Park Public Art Opportunity
The City of San Antonio’s Department of Arts & Culture has identified Virgil T. Blossom Park as an opportunity for a public art sculpture project. This project allows the “planting” of two new flower sculptures inspired by the Bloom series by San Antonio artist, Leticia Huerta, originally in McAllister Park. Bloom at Blossom Park will be the 8th project location in this series, there is an opportunity for the community to identify 2 flowers they would most like to see, bringing the total to 20 sculptures throughout the series. We are at the beginning stages of this project and need your input on what you would like to see.
Blossom Park was created in 1972 and is located off Heimer Road adjacent to Bradley Middle School in District 9. The public art opportunity location is nestled within the park, in view of Heimer Road. It will be visible to park visitors as they explore the park’s new walking trail.
