Old Wake Forest Road & Dixie Forest Road Project
Old Wake Forest Road & Dixie Forest Road Project
The Proposed improvements consist of widening Old Wake Forest Road and Daisy Forest Road between Capital Boulevard and Spring Forest Road.
There was a mistake made on the postcards sent out to area residents. The postcard reads Old Wake Forest Road & Daisy Forest Road. It should read Old Wake Forest Road and Dixie Forest Road. We apologize for any confusion this error may cause.
The advanced designs for the project are complete and we want to know what you think.
Before you take today's survey please make sure you have viewed the Presentation and design map.
The feedback from past public touchpoints can be placed into three buckets.
The lack of mid-block crossing on Dixie Forest to accommodate students coming and going from Millbrook High School. This crossing has been added to the design with signage and high visibility striping.
The lack of a dedicated right-turn lane from Old Wake Forest Road onto Litchford Road. The design team reviewed the request and has implemented the dedicated right-turn lane to ease the logjam at the intersection during peak hours.
Need for separated bicycle facilities. These concerns were raised for the safety of the cyclists and the reduction of roadway width to use a multi-use path in lieu of bicycle lanes adjacent to the travel lanes. A two-way 12’ wide multi-use path has been added to the North side of the corridor to address these concerns.
