Hartsell Park Master Plan
Hartsell Park Master Plan
The City of Concord Parks and Recreation Department is seeking community feedback on the creation of a master plan for Hartsell Park and Athletic Complex. Hartsell Park is a total of 21.45 acres, and includes the Hartsell Recreation Center, one large, and two smaller baseball diamonds, pickleball courts, one basketball court, one reservable shelter with a playground, restrooms, volleyball, open space areas, and three (3) separate parking areas off of Swink Street (30 Swink St NW), Old Charlotte Road (560 Old Charlotte Road SW), and Sunderland Road (65 Sunderland Road). The recreation center and playground have recently been updated, but the park has aged facilities and lacks pedestrian accessibility between the new elements. The CIty is seeking input to create a new vision for the park, including what facilities and amenities to preserve and/or renovate, what new features to include in the park, and how we should phase the priorities for development over time.
