Stewart Creek Greenway

Stewart Creek Greenway

CONSTRUCTION IS COMPLETE!!! The section of trail through Martin Luther King, Jr. Park officially opened March 2025. Thanks to everyone for their patience during this project.

Mecklenburg County constructed a new section of Stewart Creek Greenway. The Stewart Creek Greenway and stormwater project was a partnership between Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services. The project includes a 0.5 mile greenway trail along Stewart Creek, a 1 mile greenway trail along Stewart Creek Tributary, 0.5 mile of stream enhancements to reduce erosion and sediment, and the construction of a new stormwater control measure near the Duke Energy substation.
