GoApex Bus Stop Sidewalk Art Project Survey

The Town of Apex is planning to bring sidewalk art to twelve new GoApex bus stops in spring 2023. GoApex is the new local bus service planned to start in summer 2022. More information on GoApex can be found at www.apexnc.org/GoApex.

The purpose of this sidewalk art project is to feature a variety of creative designs by interested local and regional artists and enhance the experience of pedestrians and GoApex riders. The Town is planning on a lifespan of about two years for the art, if not longer, with regular maintenance to keep it in good condition. We will also follow the Town of Apex's Public Art Policy and NCDOT Public Art in the Right of Way Policy.

Before we issue a call for interested artists to submit their applications and draft designs this fall, the Town of Apex would like to hear from community members to find out what you would like to see. Please complete this short survey to not only help us learn about any thoughts or concerns you may have about the project, but also to help inspire the potential artists!

A selection committee made up of members of the Town of Apex’s Transit Advisory Committee, Public Art Committee, and Town Staff from several departments will review applications and select artists later this Fall and Winter, and will consider the feedback received from this survey in the selection process.
