New Bern Station Area Community Partner Group Application
The Community Partner Group will include long-time residents, newcomers, business owners, employees, owners and renters alike, made up of a diverse representation of age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, familial status, and economic background. The goal is to ensure all lived experiences are shaping the study. The group's task will be to shape the project outreach and to ensure the study, engagement process and tools and results reflect the lived experience of the people who know the community best.

The Community Partner Group's Goal is to:
• Providing feedback on outreach, engagement, and education strategies
• Providing feedback on materials for public meetings
• Confirming that the results of the study reflect the everyday experience of living, working, worshiping, shopping, and playing in the community.
• Help spread the word about the study and reinforce the message that we want to hear from the community.
Schedule and Time Commitment:
Community Partner Group members are expected to give at least two hours each month, starting in April of 2021 and running through early 2022.
Activities you will participate in include:
• Monthly confirmation group meetings
• Public meetings and events
• Outreach help
• Material review
Serving on this Community Partner Group involves a commitment to attend regular meetings and public events. Meetings may be held at various times during the week, including evenings and weekends. Members should expect at least a two-hour monthly commitment, with approximately eight to 10 group meetings.
Selection Process:
Once applications are received, the City will review applicants and use the following questions to ensure that Community Partner Group members represent all lived experiences are included. While it not required that you live or work in the study area, applicants who do will be prioritized.
City Council will be given a list of all applicants and a breakdown of the demographics of the study area and will make the decision on who to appoint. While we won't be able to appoint everyone who applies, we need your enthusiasm and commitment to this project and we will be reaching out to make sure we can keep you plugged in.

Raleigh City Council Resolution No. 302(1986) establishes a policy that advisory boards shall be representative of the City’s residents.
